Wonderito runs wonderito.com and Wonderito Song at song.wonderito.com. This policy covers our websites, your private account at song.wonderito.com/en/account, song pages and our emails. It explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your choices.
"Wonderito", "we", "us" and "our" mean the business that runs Wonderito and Wonderito Song. "You" means the adult using our site. Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor, whose own privacy policy covers what it collects. Our Terms of Service and Refund Policy explain the rest of how the service works.
What we collect
Information you give us
Your email address. You enter it at checkout, just before you pay, and when you ask for a new sign-in link. We don't ask for your phone number or home address. The payment processor may ask for billing details.
Please don't include sensitive details such as health information, addresses, school names, phone numbers or last names.
Lyrics and messages. We keep your lyrics and song titles, what you write in "Request a revision" and in emails to us, and our replies.
Payment records. Your card or wallet details go to our payment processor, and we never see or store your card number. We keep each payment's reference numbers, plan, amount, currency and status, including any refund or dispute.
Information collected automatically
Device and browser details, such as browser and operating system.
IP address and approximate location. We use your IP address to work out your country and to prevent abuse.
How you use the site, such as pages viewed, order form steps completed, checkouts started, and the website, ad or campaign link that brought you.
Account activity, such as when you sign in.
Cookies and similar technologies, such as a random identifier that helps us count visits and remember your order form.
How we use your information
To create your song, check quality and handle revision requests.
To deliver your order and run your account, including sign-in links.
To take payments and support you: taking payments safely, handling refunds and disputes, preventing fraud and misuse, and answering your messages.
To understand and improve the service: counting visits, seeing where people get stuck and seeing which links and ads bring visitors.
To advertise Wonderito, using information about adult visitors only (see "Advertising").
To meet legal duties and protect rights, including tax records, lawful requests and enforcing our Terms of Service.
We don't use your child's song, name or story in our marketing without your separate permission.
Children's information
You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live, if older) to use Wonderito Song. Children don't have accounts and aren't asked to use the site. A child's details are given by an adult: a parent or legal guardian, or another adult (such as a grandparent) with the parent's or guardian's permission. Please share only what the family would be happy for us to use.
How we treat a child's details. We use them to create, deliver and support the song and show it in your account. We share them only with the service providers that help us do this, with our payment processor if a payment is disputed, with anyone you give a song page link to, and in the legal and business cases listed in "Who we share information with". We never sell a child's details or use them for advertising.
Children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, in line with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has given us information directly, tell us and we'll delete it.
Parents stay in control. A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete their child's details at any time, even if someone else ordered the song. Email us with the child's first name and anything that helps us find the song, such as its title or a song page link. We'll check that you're the parent or guardian first. Deleting a child's details can also remove the song from the buyer's account.
Your account
Your account is private. You open it with a sign-in link sent to your email, with no password.
Who we share information with
We share information with these kinds of providers and partners:
Hosting and storage providers, which run our websites and store our records and files.
Production and technology partners that help us create and deliver songs. They receive your answers, lyrics, titles and the style and voice you chose, but not your email address.
Email delivery and support providers, which send our emails and hold the messages you send us.
Our payment processor, which receives your email, the plan, the price and our order references. If a payment is disputed, we may send it proof of delivery, which can include the song's title.
Analytics providers, which receive usage information, device and browser details and the random identifier in your browser, and may estimate your location from your IP address. They never receive names, typed text, lyrics or your email.
Advertising partners (see "Advertising"). They never receive a child's details.
Some providers also handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also share information with anyone you give a song page link to; to follow the law, answer valid legal requests, investigate fraud or protect the rights and safety of our customers, the public or Wonderito; as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets; and with your permission.
Advertising
We and our advertising and analytics partners may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to understand how the site is used, measure our ads and show our ads to people who have visited our site. Our advertising partners may receive information about adult visitors, such as pages visited, actions like starting a checkout or making a purchase, device and browser details, IP address, and identifiers such as cookie IDs and your email address. They never receive a child's details.
We don't sell personal information for money. Some US state laws may treat sharing information with advertising partners as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or as "targeted advertising". To opt out, email support@wonderito.com.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar browser storage:
to make the site work: keeping you signed in and running checkout;
to save your progress: your answers and email, so you can pick up where you left off. On a shared device, others could see these, so clear the site's data when you're done;
for analytics and advertising, as described above.
Our payment processor may set its own cookies for the payment and fraud checks. You can delete or block cookies in your browser, though sign-in and checkout may then stop working. Our site doesn't respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
How long we keep information
We keep information as long as needed to provide the service, keep your account available and meet legal, tax and accounting needs. Payment and order records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting, refunds and disputes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
When you ask us to delete, we'll delete or de-identify your information and ask our service providers to do the same where required, except what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons. Copies in backups are removed over time. Deleting also removes your songs from your account and turns off your song page links.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards, such as encryption in transit, private storage for songs and files, and access limited to the people who run the service. No system is completely secure, so we can't promise perfect security. If a security problem affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires. Your email is the key to your account, so please keep it secure.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
access your information and your child's, and give you a copy in a common, portable format;
correct information that's wrong or incomplete;
delete your information and your child's;
opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or targeted advertising;
reconsider if we turn down your request (an appeal).
How to make a request
Email support@wonderito.com from the address you used at checkout (or tell us which one you used) and say what you'd like us to do. We'll verify the request, for example by asking you to reply from that address, and use what you give us only for that. We'll reply within 45 days, or sooner if your local law requires, and tell you if we need more time where the law allows it.
Authorized agents can make a request for you with your signed permission. We may also ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
Appeals: reply to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject line. We'll respond within 45 days and explain our decision, including how to contact your state's attorney general if you still disagree.
No discrimination: requests are free, and we won't charge you more or give you a worse service for using your rights.
US state privacy rights
Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the rights above. In the past 12 months we've collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as email, IP address and online identifiers); commercial information (orders and payment records); internet activity on our site; approximate location; and the details you give us, plus your messages.
We collect them from you, your device and our payment processor, for the purposes and recipients described above. We may make identifiers, internet activity and purchase information available to advertising partners, which some state laws may treat as a "sale" or "sharing"; you can opt out by emailing us. We don't knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 16.
We don't use sensitive information to infer characteristics about you.
If you're outside the United States
Our systems and most of our providers are in the United States, so your information is processed in the US.
Where the UK GDPR or a similar law applies, our legal bases are contract (to make and deliver your song, run your account and take payment), legitimate interests (to make the song you asked for from the details you give us, keep the service secure, prevent fraud, improve the service and our ads, and answer you), legal obligation (tax and accounting records) and consent where we ask for it. You can also object to or restrict certain uses, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office, though we'd appreciate the chance to help first.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know on our site or by email.
